My comment would be to minimize the number of signs to where it would (or could) be seen the most. Chances are if they ignore one sign they will ignore them all. Harry >>> "Jenkinson, Joel" 7/11/2011 >>> All: I think the noise abatement sign definitely should be retained, and I agree with using a standard sign placement to the left side of the taxiway. However, I think it is worth having some additional discussion on where exactly the sign should be placed. In the proposed location, it is not likely to be seen by aircraft departing from Charlie or Delta. Is that a major concern? If so, could it be addressed by placing a second noise abatement sign to the left of the Taxiway Delta holding position? Second, in the proposed location it may not be seen as aircraft taxi past to the Alpha / 33 holding position. Might it not be better placed to the left (south) of the Alpha / 33 holding position? Subject: ADS Runway Guidance Sign Relocation Part of Change Order #3 for the runway project includes the relocation of the taxiway guidance signs that obstruct the visibility of the runway hold position signs. All of the sign relocations, except for the “Noise Abatement” sign on the south end of Taxiway Alpha, are being relocated within the general vicinity of the existing guidance sign. The “Noise Abatement” sign has a limited area to be relocated between Taxiways Charlie and Delta. One of the projects proposed for construction next year is the addition of an aircraft holding bay on the south end of Taxiway Alpha. With this planned addition, we recommend to relocate the existing “Noise Abatement” sign to a new location along the east side of Taxiway Alpha between the south end of Taxiway Alpha and Taxiway Charlie. I have attached an exhibit to illustrate this recommendation. Do any of you have an objection for this sign relocation recommendation? If you have any questions just let me know.
