We use the ADS pipe for underdrain / edgedrain systems on airports. It ADS pipe works well for that use, where the pipe is lined with a filter fabric sock, backfilled with an open graded
aggregate, then the aggregate is lined with filter fabric. I agree that ADS pipe is not as good as other types in application other than small diameter underdrain applications. Derek
is watching the underdrain installation closely, in fact he made the contractor tear out some of the new underdrain today.

Is ADS pipe an approved product?  We do not use it around the rest of town because tree roots decimate it, but there will never be any trees at the airport.  It also has not performed
well in our clay soils, so they need to inspect it thoroughly to insure that the embedment is properly installed.
