The vertical separation from the 54” RCP and the 42” RCP to the 12” sanitary sewer force main is 2 feet for the 54” RCP and 5 feet for the 42” RCP at the drainage structure location. The contractor would need to verify the depth as he went further south along the sanitary sewer, since we originally encountered the force main about 15 feet from bend A in the attached drawing. Because of this encounter the 42” pipe was set at a flatter slope to avoid the sanitary sewer line. If the sanitary sewer line is now 5 feet lower than the 42” pipe than somewhere along the sanitary sewer line the pipe bends and has a very steep slope to go beneath the existing west side hole. If you believe we should move forward with the proposed re-alignment we will need the contractor to dig back along the sanitary sewer line to verify the depth. Does the contractor need someone from the Public Works department present to monitor the excavation? If you have any additional questions just let me know. I would appreciate it. Nancy ________________________________ From: McAnally, Mitchell, R To: Clay Barnett Cc: McIllwain, Frank O. ; Nancy Cline Sent: Thu Jun 09 13:44:11 2011 Subject: ADS West Side Hole Sanitary Sewer I have attached a sketch of the proposed alignment of the 12 inch and 8 inch sanitary sewer force main within the West side hole drainage project. The 12 inch and 8 inch would be begin alignment relocation starting at each bend shown on the attached exhibit. Since the 8 inch line is on the outside this sewer line would have to be relocated first. All of the bends shown on the exhibit are 45 degrees. I know the TCEQ requires all sanitary sewer to be concrete encased if a storm line is within 2 feet vertically, but I couldn’t locate the horizontal requirements within the TCEQ rules. The proposed alignment of the sanitary sewer is shown to be a minimum of 5 feet from the drainage structure. If you have any additional questions or concerns let me know as soon as possible.
