           FYI, here is the latest on the MALSR.  FAA has apparently agreed to provide the new MALSR equipment and a shelter (prefabricated equipment shack), but TX-DOT and the Airport
will need to provide construction / installation funding at 90% from TX-DOT (via FAA block grant funding) and 10% Airport matching share.  It’s not ideal, but there is no way we should
decline to do this, it’s just too important and at least we are getting the equipment from FAA.  We should take what we can get and run with it.

Harry, 

Just to confirm, you do want to continue with installing the new MALSR instead of relocating the existing one at Addison.  Is that correct? 

You understand that the FAA will provide the new equipment and shelter, but the City/TxDOT will be responsible for the design and construction for this new installation AND there will
be an additional cost to the existing reimbursable agreement.  Is that correct? 

If the answer to both of these questions is Yes, then we will move forward and modify the existing reimbursable agreement.  We will do a modification and cost estimate that will need
to be approved and funded by you before we may continue.  In the mean time, we can use the existing MOA to review drawings and plans. 

Please respond to this email and we will begin the modification.

Missy, Looks like we will move forward with the MALSR installation for Addison. What needs to happen with the MOA to make this happen? We need to move as quickly as possible since we
are trying to get the MALSR design complete and hit an early February '11 bidding which will allow for our target spring '11 start of construction. Thanks, Harry
