Thanks. Please impress upon those that are conducting the testing, to be as expeditious as possible. I'm guessing you will be "hearing" from the cargo folks... There is a possibility that we will need to shut down Friday night as well, depending on progress the first three nights. Joe will be calling the FBOs and the cargo operators who may fly at night to advise them and talk with them about the project. This is in addition to an e-mail communication that is going out this morning. How long do you anticipate the runway being shut down for? Mark Mark Acevedo -------------------------- Sent from my BlackBerry Wireless Device _____ From: Jenkinson, Joel To: Mark Acevedo Cc: Clay Barnett; Nancy Cline Sent: Fri Sep 04 09:40:01 2009 Subject: FW: Addison RDD Testing FYI, we will be doing the FWD and RDD evaluations on the pavement starting Tuesday night. We did not have the opportunity to provide as much advance notice to tenants as I would have preferred, but as was discussed in the Tuesday 9/1 meeting, the only way to ensure that we keep open the option of construction in Summer 2010 is to push to get the survey and pavement data needed for the runway overlay design. Construction will still depend on FAA releasing funds in a timely manner (Spring 2010) which in turn probably depends on Congress passing some kind of FAA Reauthorization bill this year. July-August is when we would like to be doing construction, not next Fall. I spoke with Ed Oshinski from TX-DOT this morning, and he is pretty enthused about this, even if Garver remains to be convinced. Ed believes that once the Garver folks see what they can get from the RDD, they will never want to do another runway without it. If it actually works out that well, we should make the most of it from the PR standpoint and get some articles in the airport / transportation / civil engineering trade press. We are working out the coordination this morning and will have someone out here with the testing guys all night. Joel -----Original Message----- From: McIllwain, Frank O. Both testing teams know that the Airport will be closed and available for testing from 10pm until 5:30a Tuesday - Thursday nights. The RDD teams says they may need an additional day. Joe has issued NOTAMs for Airport closure 10pm - 6am Tuesday - Thursday nights.
