Joel,
Would you mind drawing up what we are discussing? The fire department will not approve having the fire hydrant behind the parallel parking.

Josh,
I believe the original thought was to get the fire hydrant away from the curb a little more (5’ instead of 3’) because of the location at the drive curb return. Because of the conflicts
(blow-off & water meter), I think it would be just fine to extend the fire hydrant lead an extra 5’ feet (or maybe 6’), eliminate the bend and place it at the normal 3’ back of curb.
Watch out for the two 2” water crossing when you extend it.

Subject: Hydrant to be relocated
Joel,
I have attached three photos of the existing hydrant that is to be relocated related to the additional entrance that was added via change order. The blue survey stake that you can see
in the photo is the proposed location of the hydrant which is in very close proximity to the existing water meters and double checks. I don’t know if this is how you intended for things
to look but wanted to bring this to your attention. Is it possible to simply extend the hydrant to the south and keep it 3 feet off of the PC and the BOC which would add an additional
5-feet of pipe but eliminate the bend? Please let me know your thoughts after reviewing the photos and feel free to call me with any questions. I can also submit this as an RFI if
needed.
Thanks,
Josh Hodsdon
