Josh, Note Clay's comment of the 29th regarding proper preparation, backfill, and compaction of the back of curbs throughout the project. This echoes my concerns about large rocks/concrete, etc. at the BOC throughout the project, both Spring Valley and Vitruvian. Please direct the appropriate sub(s) to ensure this does not get overlooked. Thank you. David E. Because they never compact it like they should, it often settles leaving standing water behind the curbs and in the median. Proper compaction should address Nancy's concern. (See below) I would rather have what we bid than something else. I am not sure how shaded the medians will be anytime soon. Clay - will you ask Dave to make sure that they put enough dirt back into the medians that they do not hold water? Eventually these medians will be somewhat shaded out after the trees mature, so St. Augustine might be a better choice anyway. Tif 419 is difficult to mow with a rotary mower, and it is recommended by the experts to reel mow instead of rotary mow. I spoke with Tri-Tex the supplier for the midiron yesterday to secure the orders and was told that the sod has not responded the way they had hoped in the last two weeks and is not ready to be cut for delivery. I need to see which way we need to proceed, wait on the sod or make the recommendation to go with Tiff 419, which is a higher price but readily available. We would honor the midiron price that was quoted and is in the contract. Please let me know how we need to proceed to this setback as time is not what we have right now. The damage included the total destruction of two of our irrigation pivots. The irrigation was out for over a month. When we finally became able to irrigate our midiron grass was in Stage 3 and must reach Stage 5 before it is ready to be harvested. We are able to water now and are hopeful that we will be able to begin harvesting again in 45 days. However, this is an estimate and we will be able to give you a closer estimate in 30 days.
