Yes, the item was meant as a contingency item to cover as many as 5 water line lowerings, no size was specified as I recall since we were not sure where it would be needed.

 

This crossing is special as related to materials and some extra length, but the work required is similar.

We want to proceed with raising the 16-inch water line where it is in conflict with the duct bank.    However, we believe this work is covered under 1.86 in the bid quantities.  Mike
– would you weigh in?  Perhaps there is a modification to 1.86 since we did not know that the 16-inch was AC for the extra materials required.  Please send me a revised estimate using
the bid item as a start with some proposed addition for the extra materials.

Please see the attached pricing for the water line lowering.  Hold on to your hats cause its high.  I have also included our material quote from our supplier so you can see where the
majority of the cost is coming from.  Unfortunately, 16” fittings are a lot more expensive and the fittings to tie PVC into asbestos coated aren’t cheap either.  Please let me know if
you have any questions or need to talk about this.
