Gary, On behalf of the Town of Addison, I wanted to thank you and the rest of the folks at Atmos for your efforts in helping the Town of Addison and North Texas Contracting successfully complete the reconstruction of Spring Valley Road in time for opening day at the new George H. W. Bush Elementary School. It would not have been possible without the help of you and your staff and we greatly appreciate it. However, the roadway did not look complete on opening day as we had envisioned. After months of requests, AT&T decided that they were going to commence their work on Friday, August 19, which was the Monday before school starts. On Saturday, August 20, they hit an Atmos owned gas line that was located under the new right-turn lane to the school. Atmos responded and chipped away the right turn lane in order to repair the gas main. The contractor for AT&T claimed that the gas line was marked 8’ east of the location where it was hit. I called Marty Kirby on Monday, August 22 and he confirmed that the line was marked in the wrong location and that Atmos would proceed with making the repairs. I requested that he let me know the schedule of the repairs and let him know that I would be happy to meet with him whenever he was available. Additionally, I spoke with Tom Cox yesterday, Thursday, August 25 and showed him the area that needed to be repaired and requested that he meet with Marty and send us a schedule of when we can expect the repairs to be complete. We have not received the schedule and was hoping that it was something you could help us with. Could mind visiting with Marty and let us know when we can expect to have the right-turn lane repaired? I have attached a picture of the damaged area. As always, we appreciate your help. Thanks, Clay Barnett, P.E.
