Kent and I met with Jack Seay and representatives from the topsoil contractor, WTI on Friday afternoon, April 29 to go over the topsoil plan.  

 

Jason with WTI commented to Jack that the site was not ready for topsoil, and that Ratcliff needed to get the site to “final grade” and to “fine grade” before they begin dumping topsoil.
 Jack agreed, so he plans to get Ratcliff busy with this work.  We have been communicating this in writing accompanied by photos to Jack for several weeks prior to this meeting.  

 

WTI’s goal to begin topsoil delivery Wednesday, May 4, and to complete the work by Friday, May 6.  Obviously this timeline will slide due to the rain, plus Ratcliff will need at least
2-3 days to get the site graded correctly.  

 

WTI does intend to condition the existing soil (heavy clay soil) that was hauled in last month on the north side of the site.  The soil they have now is being tested, so we should have
the results maybe today.  They will add a layer of this soil, which has more organic matter in it, to the existing soil and disk/till it in.

 

I was glad that WTI expressed concern to Jack about the existing conditions.
