I apologize I am just now getting to this.  I was out Thursday sick and Friday with meetings.

 

Good news… if you’re not expecting to spend more than $40,000, it does not need to be formally bid.  The actual bid threshold is $50,000 – you just need three quotes if it is below that.

 

If you’d still like to post it to bidsync, we can definitely do that.  Just let me know.

 

By the way, I put a copy of the payment bond from 1-C in the mail to you.  Should be there this afternoon.

Couple of quick questions:

 

1)      What is the expected cost of this project?

·         I estimate that the cost of the project is $25,000 to $40,000

2)      When do you need to take this to council?

·         Preferably December 14.  Our State imposed deadline is January 1, 2011.

3)      Do you want a prebid meeting? No prebid meeting.

a.       If so, is it mandatory

b.      If so, do you want it at Finance or the Service Center

4)      Do you want a full slate of bonds (performance, maintenance, and payment), or just the standard bid bond? If it is over $25,000 are we required to have the other bonds?

a.       If just the standard bid bond, we default to 5% of contract value.  Is that sufficient? That should be sufficient.

5)      Are there any special insurance requirements, or is the standard 1 million occurrence/2 million general liability slate fine?  Standard insurance is great.

6)      Do you want this open the minimum of 15 days, or will this project require additional time over and above that for firms to submit a quality bid?  The minimum is perfect.

7)      I see that we have plans, but do you also have a word or .pdf version of the specs?  We did not create a separate spec book.  We want to use a unit price bid based on the units
given on the second sheet and utilize the NCTCOG Standard Specifications for the spec book.

We would like to bid the Spectrum Drive Accessibility Improvements project at your earliest convenience.  The plans are attached.  We would like a unit price bid based on the quantities
provided on Sheet 2.  Additionally, all construction shall be in accordance with the most recent version of the NCTCOG Standard Specifications.
