Clay
Yes you may be correct, but I think with the short schedule he is just trying to buy as much time as possible. Of course, Eric will provide the contractor the start date at the Pre-Construction
Conference and it will be per the Contract Documents. I am sure he will try to extend that as much as possible but if I know Eric, time will be of the essence and he needs to hit the
ground running.
THANKS !

Clay:
Thanks for the rapid response. As I review the COG spec Section 103.6 it indicates that the notice to proceed should state both the contract start date and anticipated date of completion.
Section 103.6 also discussed that there are 10 days allowed for the contractor to begin work. This is again stated in section 108.1 Prosecution and Progress. Normally this would not
be of major concern however the Special Provision 22 in the project specifications is very clear on the calculation of contract time as it relates to the early completion bonus or calculations
of damages. Along with providing the City a first class project our firm also has the goal of receiving the completion bonus and the proper calculation of contract time is vital to that
end. Please review these provisions and amend or supplement the notice to proceed with the dates required so we are all clear on the contracts dates of record.
Thanks

I received an email of the notice to proceed. For contract clarification are we using 10 days from notice to proceed as the contract starting time. If so I see April 18, 2011 as the
date contract time starts.
Please confirm your understanding.
Thanks
