I am attempting to get the information you are referring to so I can forward it to the subcontractor so we can get the problem corrected, Thank you for clearing up the problem and helping me find the information. I am on your side here I just needed information to direct my sub to do it differently than is indicated on the duct bank plans. I now see the elevations on sheet 10 and will direct them to construct as required unless you are OK with the installation as per the elevations provided in the duct bank plans. I do not want to take a position I want to provide the product as required and that is beneficial to the Town. I do not find any directive on sloping or setting the vault anything but level. I have reviewed all the plans, previous emails and the supplemental instructions file in Project mates and do not find any directive or information other than that on the plans that would direct our subcontractor to place it any way other than level. If there are other details or information that I missed that would direct the placement of the vault with the four corners not set level please forward to me so I can include that information to the subcontractor in order to get a clear directive on the corrective action required.. As for the subsurface vault near station 20+79.64, 36’RT, the horizontal location is very good. The top of vault, however, it not. The top of vault was installed level and not per the detailed elevations provided to you. The northwest corner is 3” high, the southwest corner is 2“ high and the southeast corner if 1” low. If you can correct it, do it. The 6-way switch gear pad at station 24+96.99, 7.5’LT, was constructed in the location prior to the revised sheet. Since the revised sheet shifted the pad over 1 foot to provide the desired clearance of 5 feet, we now have less than the desired clearance. I have discussed it with Oncor and we have decided to accept the deficient clearance and try to resolve it during future design and construction. As for future construction, i.e. the street lighting pole base locations and the street lighting conduit locations, there will be near zero tolerance on these items. Joel A. We have had various problems on previous Vitruvian Park projects and my intentions are to try to prevent any re-work on this project. I am willing to provide you any additional detailed information, exhibits, etc. to make sure the installation is correct the first time. All equipment in the Vitruvian Park project has been specifically located to prevent conflicts with future facilities and to provide the best look as the development is completed. Unfortunately, some of the equipment is very close to future facilities and must be constructed to very tight tolerances. On the Bella Lane project there are only a few items that will require close attention. You are getting very close to the installation of two of these items, the subsurface switchgear vault and the 6-way switchgear pad. The location, orientation and elevations of these items require close attention. The subsurface vault must be at the location indicated, parallel to the future back of curb and at the specific elevations shown on sheet 10 of the plans. This vault must be set on undisturbed soil with required bedding to prevent settlement in the future. The 6-way switchgear pad must be in the location, orientation and elevation as shown on sheet 36 of the plans. The switchgear pad must be set per note 31 on sheet 35 to prevent settlement in the future. Both of these items are also shown in the CAD files. The 6-way switchgear pad is in very close proximity to a future masonry wall. You MUST have all corners located for these items during the installation to prevent re-work later in the project. The other item that has been very problematic for us is the street lighting pole base locations and conduit routing. I will address this item with you more specifically in the future when you are closer to beginning the street light work. Please make sure we discuss this before any streetlight conduit and foundations begin. Please let me know if you would like to discuss or need any additional information. Joel A.
