Gentlemen, I received a call from Scott Hale today about the color degradation of the water pipe delivered by HD supply today. The entire load of 10" water pipe has color degradation and will not be accepted by the Town of Addison. I spoke with Clay Barnett about this and the Town of Addison's stance on this is they want new pipe installed and not pipe that has been sitting in storage somewhere for 6 months or more. The Town of Addison also believes that this degradation weakens the pipe and will not perform for the 50 years it is warranted for. I have taken pictures of this pipe and included it with this email. In the current version of the NCTCOG Standard Specifications For Public Works Construction Fourth Edition October 2004 Item 501.1 and 501.1.1 clearly states reasons for rejection of pipe.
