Robert and I went by today to meet with Paul. I notified him that the non-testable fire device will have to be replaced with a USC approved assembly. The existing vault will suffice. We will handle the damaged curb stop. On the domestic DC, I am requiring them to replace it with a new one that is approved for vertical installation. Sub metering internally is strictly up to building inspections requirements. I will be sending an email shortly to Paul explaining what we require and I will carbon you. Please inform PSI that a USC approved DCDA will need to be installed in the existing vault. Specifically, will the fire line detector check need to be upgraded to a DCDA? Will the vault need to be upgraded? Will we adjust the domestic meter box and replace the damaged curb-stop, or will they be required to do that? Will the existing domestic DCVA be allowed to remain in the vertical orientation if it is not approved for vertical by USC-FCCCHR? If the space is being split into two lease spaces, will we require separate meters, or can they sub-meter the services internally? I have gotten a phone call from S & R’s Utility contractor, PCI, asking about the fire service in the vault and what will be required of them there. I will wait to hear from you before I respond to him. Thanks. David E. Wilde Town of Addison Public Works Inspector 972-450-2847 dwilde@addisontx.gov
