Subject: Meeting Summary
Mr. Kadleck,
Staff is committed to successfully completing this project. As such, we commit to review plans submitted within two full business days of the date received.
Following is a recap of this morning’s meeting:
1. Reinforcing Steel: Garver commented that TxDOT Aviation Standards specify a guideline for the design of continuously reinforced concrete pavement. However, Kadleck stated
that they have spoken with TxDOT Aviation concerning these criteria and that TxDOT Aviation has extended an offer to waive the reinforcement and paving design criteria. Staff requested
that Kadleck forward a copy of any waivers obtained in writing. As an alternative to obtaining the waiver, staff has accepted recommendations that have been signed and sealed by a licensed
professional engineer in the State of Texas based on site conditions in the past and would be open to reviewing alternatives that meet this criteria. To help facilitate review of any
alternative pavement designs, Staff requests a copy of any geotechnical investigations completed for the site.
2. Fire Service for the building: Kadleck stated that the fire service would be designed as presented in the second plan review, which met the criteria of the Water System Requirements.
3. Detention: Grantham has submitted detention calculations for Kadleck to review. If these detention calculations are agreeable, Kadleck will utilize these for the next plan
submittal. If there are disagreements with the calculations, Kadleck will revise their calculations on the based on the comments and resubmit the revised calculations.
4. Detention materials: Leggett inquired about acceptable materials for the detention area. Staff reiterated that any detention material that has been successfully used on an
airport in the United States under paving that is maintainable would be acceptable to use on this project.
