All: Ron Frederick has asked whether the airport would have any need of fill dirt from the Million Air project. I advised him that if it is good fill – not rock, and not full of big rocks – we could probably use it but that I would need to check. I think Dave has been working on a couple areas where we could use some good fill. What about the runway project, will they have excess from the excavations or is it likely that fill will be needed? I recall that being discussed in the pre-bid meeting, but I don’t recall what was the conclusion. What about using some of the fill off the southeast corner of the runway to build up that low area? I am pretty certain we will need quite a bit of fill in there for the EMAS (assuming that the EMAS project gets the go-ahead). If we agree to take some fill dirt, where could we stockpile it? What might we need to do to ensure that Million Air’s contractor provides only good fill dirt and not rock? I assume we might need silt fences to contain possible run-off? I wanted to get this on your radar prior to the pre-con, because Ron Frederick will probably ask about it again. I will defer to the engineers on this one, but if we need some fill and Million Air wants to get rid of some, it seems that we might be able to reach a mutually beneficial arrangement.
