Joel, Just an idea, but I think the fill dirt will go nicely in that ditch on the west side by the end of Dooley Road that Dave Foster has been working on. Thanks, Clay Barnett, P.E. The first thing we talked about was the possible incentive for early completion of Stage 1 (reconstruction of the south end) and the short answer is no … Frank talked to the contractor and there is pretty much no amount of money that would get him to where he could finish Stage 1 any faster than 30 days. It’s a tight schedule, and the main thing we need is favorable weather. On the fill dirt issue, Frank says that he expects the contractor on the runway project will need about 3,000 cubic yards of fill. Frank suggested that we should just put Million Air’s contractor in touch with EAS and let them work something out. That sounds sensible to me, but I think that is really a Public Works call. Also, if there is hauling from the Million Air site to a stockpile area for the runway project, that will need some careful consideration and we are extremely wary of allowing hauling on the airport … operationally, we think it would be safer if public streets were used for the haul routes.
