Assistant City Engineer Town ofAddison PO Box 144 Addison, TX 75001 Re: West Taxiway and Connectors with Drainage Improvements -Revised ALP Addison Airport Dear Mr. Pierce: In accordance with our contract agreement, provided herewith for your review and use is the revised Airport Layout Plan (ALP) for Addison Airport. We are providing you with one (1) mylar, two (2) blackline prints, and one (1) electronic file copy of the revised ALP. Revisions were made to the November 1997 ALP prepared by your Master Plan consultant, Bamard Dunkelberg, as follows: 1) recent construction improvements to Taxiway B and the new connector taxiways; and 2) a correct depiction ofthe Glide Slope Critical Areas associated with the Instrument Landing Systems (ILS) at each runway endsince these critical areas were discovered to beincorrectly shown on the ALP as documented in my letter to you dated November 19, 1998. The Glide Slope Critical Areas were revised to show an x-dimension of1300 feet in accordance with FAA Order 6750.16B, Change 2 for a Capture Effect glide slope. These two revisions to the ALP drawing are noted in a revision block on the drawing. Itis recommended .' that the Town of Addison submit the revised ALP to Bruce Ehly of TxDOT Aviation Division for coordination and FAA approval. We recommend that you advise Mr. Ehly that when the Glide Slope Critical Area discrepancy was discovered, the FAA Airways and Facilities Sector Office at Addison indicated that they had not seen the November 1997 ALP, even though the ALP was approved by FAA Southwest Region. Itis also suggested that the Town may wish to further update the ALP with respect to the Keller Springs Rd. Tunnel project. The tunnel is shown on the drawing; however, we believe that a number ofhangars and buildings are shown on the ALP which were removed by the tunnel project subsequent to November 1997. Please let me know ifyou would like for us to undertake the updating ofthe ALP to reflect changes in airport features associated with the tunnel, and we will be happy to provide you with a fee proposal. URS Greiner Woodward Clyde Please let me know ifyou have any questions regarding the two ALP revisions that have been made, or if we can be offurther assistance. IIth Street Austin, TX 78701-2483 Re: Addison Airport Dear Mr. Ehly: ,•During the construction ofour Westside Taxiway Project, we discovered that the Glide Slope Critical Area dimensions on the November 1997 approved Airport Layout Plan (ALP) did not conform to Chapter 6 ofthe FAA Advisory Circular on Airport Design, ACI50f5300-13. Our engineers, URS Greiner, also determined that the FAA Airways and Facilities Sector Office at Addison have not seen the November 1997 ALP even though it was approved by FAA Southwest Region. URS Greiner has revised the approved ALP that was prepared by Barnard Dunkelberg & Company to show the correct glide slope critical areas, and the new Taxiway "B" and Connectors. I have enclosed two prints ofthe revised ALP fur your use and approval by FAA Please advise ifyou ifyou need any additional information. Thank you for your help during this project.
