successful bidder fur !he collStrucnon of Arapaho Road, Phase L r know you have submitted !he contract based on Clyde Johnson's Notice of Award letter. However, I wanted to let you know
that we intend to delay your notice to proceed for two reasons: 1. The west end of the job requires demolition of several buildings by DART. This is uuder way and scheduled for completion
February 28. 2. We have all of the right-of-way essentially acquired except for parcels 6-1 and 6-2. (parcel 6-1 has been revised recently). We believe we are very close to an agreement
on these. Additionally, we still need an interiocal agreement with Dallas to work on the Arapaho Road bridge across the toll road, but we don't feel this is a reason to delay the start
at this time. The proper count 011 the tree grates was 113. However, this number will go down slightly dne to the addition of a driveway on ArapahO Road which will take out some trees.
We imend to issue construction sets of plans and specifications tlJat will clarify all of these issues. As you mentioned ou the telephone, the time we need to finalize the ROW acqnisition
(about oue month) should give you sufficient time to plan the project, In the meantime, if you would be interested ill a "partial" noUce to proceed, one that would allow you to begin

maintenance: As you are aware, recent rains have caused some ofthe utility patches to deteriorate. E.L. Dalton was contacted and mobilized on September 15, 1998 to repair their utility
patches. 'j.!4J 2. Notification procedures: Nelson Mitchell (793-4500)' our primary point ofcontact for pot hole and barricade maintenance. It is my understanding at his phone number
has been distributed to several Town ofAddison departments and that th have been successful contacting him after normal working hours. Quenton Wilbanks (507-4916) or Robert Weber (213-3849)
can be contacted as secondary points of contact. 4\1\\12-) 3. Barricade maintenance: The utilization of barrels to delineate traffic lanes creates a constant problem of barricade maintenance.
Our project coordinator and foremen are constantly resetting barrels that get knocked over by the traveling public_ Nelson Mitchell monitors the condition ofthe barricades daily and
makes corrections as required. This headache will persist unless another method to delineate the travel lanes is utilized. Ifyou have any questions regarding this information, don't
