Four of the five options that were developed were identified to discuss with DWU. The design team is going to prepare exhibits for options A-D to present to DWU in a future meeting. The various options are defined in the following section. Option A is the closest to the original design and the most favorable to the Town of Addison. DWU will be presented with that option first and if rejected we plan on moving on to Option B then Option C and Option D if needed. URS, using due professional care as outlined in our Agreement with the Town of Addison, dated November 11,2002, will endeavor to provide 25 feet of vertical clearance to the underside of the sidewalk that extends over the water main, with the exception ofthe intermittent diaphragms, and specify suggested construction methods, as the contractor is responsible for all construction means and methods, that will not interrupt the operation ofthe water main. URS, using due professional care as outlined in the Agreement, will design the structure foundations as drilled shafts embedded into the rock and will disregard the soil above the rock in the event of a local failure in the water main. URS has agreed to use its professional skill, judgment and abilities in the performance of its Services, and shall render Services in connection with the project in accordance with the professional standards of engineering prevailing in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex area and shall use the skill and care commensurate with the requirements ofthe engineering profession.
