The Dallas Area Rapid Transit Authority received a Special Use Permit for the Addison Transit Center on October 23, 1997 through Ordinance 097-055. The Transit Center has been operating at this location since 1998. The transit center has been very successful, and at this point, DART needs to expand the parking for it. There is space on the west end of the site that can be utilized for parking without interfering with the parking for the convenience store and office building. DART would like to expand into this area and add 36 additional parking spaces. Proposed Plan. The plans submitted by the applicant show the additional parking spaces. There will not be any additional structures in new area. The plans have been reviewed by the staff, and conform to the city's requirements for size, drive-widtli, and paving. Public Works. The Public Works Department has reviewed the site plan, and notes that the final grading, landscaping, and drainage plans must be approved by the staff prior to construction of the parking lot.
